Public Data Archives

The following public data repositories host datasets in NWB format, making neurophysiology data accessible to the research community.

DANDI Archive
The DANDI Archive is a BRAIN Initiative-funded platform for publishing and sharing neurophysiology data including electrophysiology, optophysiology, and behavioral data. DANDI provides a comprehensive platform for storing, organizing, and accessing NWB datasets, with storage supported by the AWS Open Data Registry.

EMBER
The Ecosystem for Multi-modal Brain-behavior Experimentation and Research (EMBER) Archive is the data archive for the NIH BRAIN Initiative’s Brain Behavior Quantification and Synchronization (BBQS) Program. Funded by the NIH and developed by a team from JHU/APL, UCLA, UPenn, Dartmouth, and MIT, EMBER provides accessible and versatile storage, processing, and curation of multimodal neurophysiological and behavioral datasets. EMBER extends BRAIN Initiative data infrastructure, leverages DANDI for storage, and is supported by the AWS Open Data program.

EBRAINS
EBRAINS is a digital research infrastructure created by the EU-funded Human Brain Project, offering tools and services for neuroscience research. It hosts brain atlases, models, and datasets including NWB-formatted data.

Blue Brain Open Data
The Blue Brain Project at EPFL provides open access to neuroscience datasets through the AWS Open Data Registry. These datasets include detailed brain cell models and reconstructions available in NWB format.
